HISTORY
Welcome to the Forest Ridge Subdivision, Swansboro's newest single family residential subdivision. Forest Ridge was developed by six people who are very familiar to longtime residents: Alan & Darlene Bell, Pate & Joan Phillips, Bill Blackman and his fiancee, Brenda Gibson. Each of these developers has brought his or her unique expertise to create a desirable new Swansboro community, located just off NC 24 off Belgrade-Swansboro Road.
Forest Ridge Subdivision
Alan & Pate are the owners of Bell & Phillips Surveying. They have years of experience designing subdivisions for others and have learned much about what a good development should offer. The two have wanted to create their own subdivison for years.
"We found a great piece of land, first and foremost, " says Alan. "It has ridges, water, and just a tremendous variety of features."
"Then we wanted Forest Ridge to utilize the natural beauty of the land," adds Pate.
Forest Ridge is indeed a unique community which blends harmoniously with its creek side environment. THe community is made up of single family residential lots, with a minimum lot size of .39 acres up to 2.5+ acres. Some lots could even support a home with a basement, rare for coastal living. Lots are also available on Holland Mill Creek with access to the White Oak River and the Intracoastal Waterway.
Darlene Bell, who is married to Alan, is a real estate broker and has associated with Crystal Coast Home Realty, LLC to continue her role as the Marketing Agent for Forest Ridge. Pate's wife, Joan is an insurance agent.
Forest Ridge Today
Thirty lots have already been sold with 10 homes currently under construction.
Bill is a grading contractor, the retired owner of Sunland Constructions. This experience brings him excellent understanding of road and utility construction.
Forest Ridge features wetlands and trees that have been used as a natural buffer to highlight privacy for its residents. The community also includes a proposed community pier and picnic area, as well as decorative street lights. There is also an RV and boat storage area.
The development will have a homeowners' association with covenants.
The lots are on county water and have septic tank systems with undergound utilities. The road was built to state specifications, dedicated to the Department of Transportation to eliminate future cost to land owners for road maintenance.
